Christa Winthers graduated from North Central College in 2001 where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing. Christa went on to receive her law degree from Valparaiso University College of Law in 2005.
From a very young age, Christa knew that she wanted to be an attorney. Christa began her legal career as an intern at the DuPage County Public Defender’s Office during law school, and eventually became the supervisor of the Juvenile Division after becoming an attorney. In that capacity she worked intimately with DuPage County Probation Officers, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and the State’s Attorney’s Office. Christa no longer works for the Public Defender’s Office, but she still works in the area of Juvenile Law, and has represented hundreds of children in abuse, neglect and dependency cases as a Guardian Ad Litem in Juvenile Court for DuPage County.
Before joining Antoniolli, Cerny & Winthers, P.C. Christa worked at a well-known family law firm in Wheaton, Illinois as an associate attorney where she gained broad knowledge and experience working on a varied range of family law cases. There, she was able to polish her skills of negotiation and litigation to be a successful advocate for her clients.
